A tantalizing tie is certainly in store as two of Europe's biggest sides go head to head in the FA Cup final. Several months after clashing in the EFL Cup final, Chelsea and Liverpool will renew acquaintances in the FA Cup showpiece event on Saturday at Wembley.
The Reds, who won the EFL Cup thanks to besting the Blues 11-10 in a tense penalty shoot-out, are hoping to win what would be an unprecedented quadruple at the end of this season. Jurgen Klopp's men do have some ground to make up in the Premier League, as they're three points behind Manchester City with two games to go, but are still very much in the title race, while they have a great chance to add another Champions League trophy to their cabinet should they beat Real Madrid in the final on May 28th.
In addition, Liverpool are presently on a 15 match unbeaten streak across all comps, which certainly will make Chelsea supporters quite nervous heading into this contest. The Blues, meanwhile, have struggled for consistency as of late, with just two wins in their last five. However, this will be the third consecutive FA Cup final for the Blues, who have lost their last two appearances in this event to Arsenal and Leicester.
Liverpool are hoping to win this trophy for the first time in 16 years, with Steven Gerrard playing a starring role, but they will face an opponent equally determined to win after losing in the EFL Cup in such a heart-breaking fashion.
Who will win the 141st FA Cup final? And will it be decided in 90 minutes or be a longer affair?
One thing is certain: it will be one of these two English giants, and we won't have to wait too long to find out.
