Saturday’s defeat to Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League final looks to have been Sadio Mane’s final game in a Liverpool shirt.
The Senegalese superstar, who will enter the final year of his Anfield deal this summer, has reportedly decided to leave the Merseyside giants six years after joining from Southampton, having won every available trophy along the way.
This is according to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, one of the most reliable sources out there. The Italian journalist reported that Mane has decided to call it quits and is now ready for a new experience.
One club is being heavily linked with the winger, and to no one’s surprise, it is Bayern Munich. The German giants are one of the best teams in the world and would thus be a great destination for Sadio, and their ongoing debacle with Serge Gnabry, who is also entering the final year of his deal, could force the Bundesliga champions to sign a new attacker.
But how much would he cost the Bavarians or any other club interested in Mane’s services? According to the Daily Mail, the FA Cup champions will accept no less than £35M for their star attacker.
It will be interesting to see whether Bayern Munich will sanction this move given the player’s age. However, with Gnabry failing to accept a new deal at the Allianz Arena, this could be the best like-for-like replacement out there this summer should the former Arsenal man leave Nagelsmann’s side.
