The ratings for last week's football games in the United States have finally seen the light, and it may come as no surprise to see the game between Real Madrid and Manchester City as the most watched game of the week in this country.
Real Madrid's matches in the continental competition have gathered quite a following in recent weeks, but last week's clash had over 1.4 million viewers, considering the numbers from English and Spanish-language broadcasters.
Unsurprisingly, two Premier League matches completed the top three viewership spots in the U.S., with Brighton's historic four-nil win against Manchester United came close to one million viewers. The third spot for the most-watched game in North America belonged to the game between Liverpool and Tottenham, which concluded in a one-all draw.
In terms of domestic leagues, Premier League matches saw the Liga MX playoffs and MLS games becoming stiff competition in terms of viewership numbers, but the real standout came for the NWSL Challenge Cup, with over 450,000 fans watching the game where the North Carolina Courage claimed the title against the Washington Spirit with a 2-1 score.
Speaking of MLS matches, Los Angeles FC's game against Austin FC was the most watched match for the domestic league, making it the third most-viewed football game in the U.S. on that day.
