2022/23 Premier League schedule revealed, new Man Utd boss Ten Hag in for tough start

The 2022/23 Premier League season is still over a month away but fans eagerly anticipating the return of the English top-flight have been awarded a treat!

The Premier League fixtures for the upcoming season have just been revealed, with some interesting showdowns set to take place early on in the campaign.

Everything kicks off on a Friday once again, with Arsenal taking to the field for the first game of 2022/23 for a tricky trip to London rivals Crystal Palace on August 5. Last season, Arteta's men made the difficult visit to Brentford for their opening game and lost 2-0. Additionally, the Gunners did not fare well against Patrick Vieira's men last term and will thus need to be at their best if they are to seal the three points on Matchweek 1.

The remaining nine games will be spread across the weekend, with seven going down on Saturday, August 6 and the remaining two being held on Sunday, August 7. Liverpool will be in action in Saturday's early kick-off as Klopp's men look to get their hands on the title this time around, having finished second last term due to a mere one-point gap.

The Reds kick things off with a trip to newly-promoted Fulham, which could be the first Premier League game for marquee summer signing Darwin Nunez, who joined from Benfica. Tottenham, who are currently on a spending spree after securing UEFA Champions League football, will also be in action later that day, taking on Southampton at home in Antonio Conte's first full season with the north London outfit.

Chelsea wrap up Saturday's action with a trip to Everton, a clash with former manager and iconic midfielder Frank Lampard, but it remains unclear who Thomas Tuchel will field due to the drastic outgoings at Stamford Bridge.

And then we have Sunday's games, featuring the two Manchester giants. Manchester United will take to the field first, facing Brighton at Old Trafford in what will be Erik ten Hag's debut game in the league. Another man who could make his Premier League debut that same day is Erling Haaland, with English champions Manchester City commencing their title defense with a trip to West Ham in what should be an exciting Matchweek 1 clash.
